Abstract

Contraception, abortion and reproductive technology are changing the human reproductive process, breaking up its unity and putting under human control every single phase of it. A wide range of choices and liberties spreads out and all that concerns destiny, all that happens in our bodies thanks to the biological processes and to their automatisms, comes down. But this optimistic imagery may be challenged by a deeper reflection which points out the shadows and the risks which accompany this manipulation of the reproductive processes.
