Abstract
Three visits to the medina of Fes: 2001, 2008, 2030
Just ten years ago, the medina of Fes was still preserving its original features. Nowadays, economic growth, globalization and gentrification are threatening it. Paradoxically, while population evolves toward new social forms, the planned interventions wearily reproduce the ancient city stereotype. It is not still available an impact analysis on renovation, destination change, substitution practices that are modifying the urban fabric, maybe in irreversible way. But the strategies for 2030 seem not
looking for a real change of direction.
