Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Phenomenology and Mind promotes discussion and interchange among various methodological approaches, thereby overcoming barriers no longer justified in the present age of international, interdisciplinary research communities. Without renouncing its standards of analytical rigour and disciplined experience, in close cooperation with experimental research and historical scholarship, our journal will periodically host monographic issues edited by the various Research Centres. It will also continue to serve as a forum for the International Doctoral Schools organized by those Centres.

Submissions are subject to double blind review.

Topics: Phenomenology and Social Ontology; Ethics and Political Theory; Cognitive Neurosciences, Philosophy of Mind and Language; Aesthetics, Metaphysics and History of Ideas.

If the manuscript is considered suitable for presentation during SRSSP 2019 and for publication, it is sent to at least two reviewers. The peer review process is double-blind, whereby both referees and authors are kept anonymous. If the reviews are positive, the manuscript will be accepted for presentation during SRSSP 2019 and, by default, marked as “Resubmit for review*”.

Publication decisions by the Editors/Board of Directors are final.

Submissions must be prepared for double blind review. Manuscripts – in .doc format – should not contain any identifying information and they cannot exceed 4000 words (references included). Moreover, they must contain:

- An abstract of no more than 150 words,

- The section to which the author(s) wants to contribute to;

- 4/5 keywords.

All manuscripts must be in English.

*This label is due to technical reasons and not necessarily to the quality of the paper, since each paper will require a second round of reviews after SRSSP 2019 in order to be evaluated for publication on the corresponding issue of Phenomenology and Mind(PhM 18 – Publication expected by July 2020). For the second round of review, the author is expected to re-submit the paper, improved based on reviewers’ comments and comments received during SRSSP 2019.
