Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it being considered for publication by another journal. In case the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
  2. Authors should note that a paper charge will be levied for publication of their paper, when the manuscript is accepted (charge reduced for MPU members). Papers will be published in the first issue available after proof of the paper charge payment is received. For information contact the Editorial Office (email:
  3. The authors include a cover letter indicating the highlights and importance of the presented research in about 50 words. The cover letter should also include a statement about copyright as indicated in the web page, during submission, and explicit agreement of all coauthors to publication.

  4. State if the paper is a RESUBMISSION of a previously revised paper and refer to previous paper protocol number.
  5. Full first name, surname and email address of all authors are included during on-line submission (Add Author button).
  6. The submission file is in Microsoft Word or RTF, document file format.
  7. Running title and no more than five keywords are provided.
  8. Lines in each page are automatically numbered. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font and employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses).
  9. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographical requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in the section About the Journal.
  10. References in the Literature cited section are in alphabetical order according to first author’s surname, and in chronological order if more than one paper by the same first author is cited. Journal style for Literature cited is carefully followed.
  11. When the URLs to access references on-line are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference, the URLs are ready to click (e.g.,
  12. Tables are generated with the "table option" and are included in the manuscript file after the Literature cited section.
  13. Captions for figures are included in the manuscript file after the tables.
  14. All illustrations and figures can be added in the text file, but MUST ALSO be placed in separate files, in .tiff (preferred), .eps, or .jpg format for PC. They should not be smaller than final size, with high resolution (not less than 300 dpi). They should be loaded with other manuscript files as .zip files. In any case the final size of the submitted file should not exceed 6Mb. If greater file size is required, then separate files (each less than 6 Mb) should be submitted.

  15. The photographs are of high quality (in-focus, good contrast, well-lit), and they illustrate the point clearly. They have been cropped to exclude unnecessary details.
  16. Consistent style and sizing is used for all figures, and lettering on axes of graphs is of sufficient size for final reproduction.
  17. The English language has been revised by a native English speaker.

Like most website operators, FUP Journals collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. FUP Journals’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how FUP’s visitors use its website.
