Abstract


An analysis of the Epicurean theme λάθε βιώσας in Horace, epist. 1.17.10 and 1.18.102; in Ovid, Trist. 3.4.25 (criticizing Horace); in Seneca’s writings (and in Pseudo-Seneca’s Octavia); and in AL 407-408 Riese2 = 403-404 Shackleton Bailey, in fact a single elegiac poem possibly written by Seneca himself.
